Most umbrellas are 8 ribs of thin metal over a lightweight canopy. They are cheap, and they invert the first time the wind picks up. RainSpan™ is built the other way: 24 ribs spreading the load across the canopy, an all-fibreglass shaft and reinforced fibreglass ribs that flex instead of snapping, and a thickened pongee canopy with a vented double layer that lets gusts pass through rather than fighting them.
It opens at the touch of a button on seven of the colours, covers 110–130 cm across, and weighs about 500 g — substantial in the hand, not heavy in the bag.

Care & Use
Shake off excess water outdoors, then leave the canopy fully open until it is completely dry — this is what keeps the fabric and the frame in good condition for years. Wipe the shaft and handle with a soft damp cloth when needed, and keep sand and grit away from the runner, joints and automatic mechanism. Store it dry.
Open the umbrella clear of other people, and in severe wind close it rather than fighting the gust.
